DURHAM, North Carolina - "The stakes couldn’t be clearer: we need urgent action on clean energy if we’re going to have a healthy, sustainable future for working families and our birds and wildlife. Instead we get a costly bill written by and for Duke Energy that falls short on clean energy. We’re disappointed that lawmakers ignored input from conservation groups and ratepayers. HB 951 still has a long way to go to become law. Audubon and our advocates will continue speaking up for bold climate solutions," says Andrew Hutson, executive director of Audubon North Carolina and vice president of the National Audubon Society.
