Audubon North Carolina is thrilled to have climate leader and state Senator DeAndrea Salvador as our keynote speaker at the upcoming 2022 Summit in Charlotte.

Sen. Salvador is a fifth-generation Charlottean and represents district 39 in the Queen City. The founder of two groundbreaking Charlotte-based organizations focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, she has worked to improve the community’s most pressing issues including climate, clean air, and energy affordability. As a senator, Sen. Salvador has been a leader on climate, energy, and justice issues, most recently working to pass landmark bipartisan climate legislation last fall that gives North Carolina one of the strongest carbon reduction commitments in the country. She is also a member of the Senate Agriculture, Energy and Environment Committee.

Before her work as a lawmaker, Sen. Salvador founded RETI, a non-profit focused on helping families sustainably reduce energy costs using smart technology, solar energy, efficiency, and education. RETI also consulted on the City of Charlotte’s Sustainable Energy Action Plan.

She is also a proud alum of UNC Charlotte, the location of the 2022 Summit, and serves on the boards of Clean Air Carolina and Youth Empowered Solutions.
