Dust off your work gloves and find the spade—Native Plants Week is here, and there's no better time to give your yard a bird-friendly makeover! We're kicking it off on Oct. 18 with a special livestream and a panel of native plants experts, including do-it-yourselfers and professionals. 

This special week is designated by Gov. Cooper and takes place each fall, during prime planting season. Register now! 

Guest speakers: 

  • Cara and Tony Woods and their Wood Thrush-inspired garden in King (You may remember them and their amazing warbler stories from a special native plants Birdy Office Hours last spring).
  • Tara Mei Smith, executive director of Extra Terrestrial Projects. Tara has a background in urban planning, fashion design, and sustainable innovation and has led green infrastructure and other public gardening projects. 
  • New Hope Audubon members on their Leave Your Leaves program.
