Important Bird Area of the Month: Pungo-Pocosin Lakes IBA

Two exhibits in NC are showcasing Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

* From December 2 until January 22, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences is hosting a photography exhibit by Mike Dunn featuring beautiful photos from national wildlife refuges, including Pocosin Lakes:

Havens for Wildlife, Sanctuaries for the Human Spirit

The exhibit is in the Nature Art Gallery, is located on the mezzanine level of the Museum Store. All exhibited art is for sale.

* The Maritime Museum in Plymouth, NC, is hosting a new exhibit for the Friends of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge that features short films, maps and  information about the refuge.
