Helping Birds

Where's Carl? 2013 Edition!

Meet Carl the traveling Cardinal! He’ll be traversing the Carolina skies in support of Audubon North Carolina. Since cardinals don’t migrate, he’ll spend the winter within the state boundaries - visiting friends new and old, from the coast to the mountains. Carl’s is traveling to encourage you to sign up for Audubon North Carolina’s Cardinal Club Monthly Giving Program by the close of 2013. Like Carl, monthly donors are with us throughout the year and make a HUGE impact on Audubon’s work to protect birds and wildlife across North Carolina. Keep up with Carl’s adventures through December 31 on Facebook!

Become a NC Cardinal Club member by December 31st to receive your very own singing plush cardinal! Once you receive your bird, give him a name and share your photos of his escapades on our Facebook page!

Even a small monthly gift makes a huge difference for North Carolina’s birds – here’s the breakdown:

$10 a month funds a 6-hour coastal inlet survey to monitor shorebird populations. Audubon protects 30% of North Carolina’s shorebirds!$25 a month buys enough symbolic fencing to protect nesting birds and their babies for an entire season.$50 a month purchases 2 pairs of binoculars so that our Land Conservation Director can monitor the elusive migrating warblers found in our mountains.Give $84 a month and become a member of the T. Gilbert Pearson Society to enjoy exclusive benefits including National Audubon Society membership, a special annual gift, invitations to events and more. Support at this level helps delay mowing in hayfields where Bobolinks nest or supports a workshop to reach private landowners learning about how to manage their land for wildlife or even pays for travel to other countries where Audubon works to protect our birds as they winter elsewhere.

Audubon North Carolina is so thankful to our generous donors who allowed us to have a fantastic and productive 2013. Be a part of making 2014 an even more amazing year for wildlife and ecosystem conservation in our state by securing your membership in the Cardinal Club before the year ends!
