Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy reaches major milestone

Big Yellow Mountain within the Roan Highlands/Curtis Smalling

Congratulations to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy for reaching a major milestone: according to the Asheville Citizen-Times, the "Asheville-based land trust has protected more than 50,000 acres across Western North Carolina and East Tennessee, the most of any land trust in the state." The 38-year-old land trust has protected property within several Important Bird Areas, including Roan Mountain and the Black Mountains-Great Craggy Mountains. Big shout-out to SAHC!
