A new initiative is underway in the Highlands Plateau Important Bird Area. The Treasure Highlands project is an opportunity for Audubon North Carolina to support the work of a number of partners in the Highlands Plateau Important Bird Area and to connect people with citizen science and volunteer opportunities in the region. The Treasure Highlands website serves as a clearinghouse for outdoor and environmental activities and volunteer opportunities in the area, including building trails, planning events, conducting bird surveys, or attending field trips.
